    Our Mission

The mission of the University of Cincinnati Emeriti Association & Center is to advocate for the interests of emeriti, to provide intellectual and social opportunities to emeriti, and to strengthen ties between the emeriti and the university, local, national, and international communities.

    Emeritus Status & Appointment

All emeriti of the university are automatically voting members of the Association. “Emeritus rank” is defined as a non-salaried academic title of honor of a retired Faculty Member or academic officer of the University. This status is granted by the Board of Trustees upon the recommendation of the academic unit, college, and provost.

    Governance

The Association is governed by a 21-member Board which meets monthly, led by an annually-elected slate of officers, including a representative to the Faculty Senate. It produces a quarterly newsletter that is sent to all members for whom we have a current email address. Much of the work of the Association is organized and carried out through its committee structure.  Members are encouraged to join one or more of our working committees. The work of the Association is supported by the Provost’s Office and is facilitated by an Executive Director appointed by the Provost.
